Please i sincerely need your kind support with the LEAP software. I am new to the software. Have been studying and reading around for about three months now. My problem i am currently facing is: I want to forecast the 10 years energy demand of some petroleum products (gas oil, kerosene, LPG, Premix, etc.).

Can i import from excel to the LEAP? If so how do i go about it? Have been able to develop the demand tree. How to do i enter the figures into the LEAP?, How do i run so as to get the forecast figure? Thank you. Hoping to receive your kind responses soon.

    Hello Franklin,

Yes, you can import data from excel, as a matter of fact, i find it much easier to link up data into excel and update time and again.
You need to follow few steps
    • develop the demand tree as per your need (which you have already done).
    • in Analysis menu- click export to excel
      • a window will appear. you need to assign what kind of data to be included and at what level (please note, it automatically gets the export data at the latest branch)
      • practice and see what each does
    • a leap standard sheet is created. here you can enter data or link up data from calculation sheets
    • with the excel sheet open and active, go to Analysis menu and click import from excel. (explore the different options available here, but in general settings as it is all you need)
    Hope this helps you.
