Pakistan has 50,000 MW exploitable wind energy potential, 60,0000 MW Hydel potential and enormous Solar Potential about 1.5 GW. But in Energy Balance all these resources are not contributing well but importing electricity. Other Resources like coal, biomass and natural gas are more focusing on imports rather than indigenous resources. How this issue can be solved.

Check the data you entered under the Resources branches. If LEAP sees that there are no remaining reserves of a fossil fuel or inadequate annual yields of renewable resources then it will automatically fall back on imports. Of course you should also check also that your demand and Transformation values are reasonable as they cause the requirements on your resources. In the screen shot you shared I notice that the values in your electricity generation module are very large. FYI, total electricity consumption in Pakistan in 2018 was 10.5 Million TOE according to the IEA.

    Respected Sir,
    Where is the fault?
My question is regarding energy balance. In Pakistan electricity supply from natural gas will be 5.4 MTOE but it will take more than thousand MTOE of natural gas to convert it. I think it is not a perfect match and transformation losses are not so high. Please guide me to keep the readings reasonables.
    Thanks

    Dear Muhammad,
Making some calculations based on data you provided, i am pretty, much sure there is an consistent error in the data parameter.
My guess is in the Process Efficiency for each powerplant. Please check if you have entered the efficiency data with % sign as well (like 40%). You only need to enter 40.

As for the 1st question regarding imports, like Charles said, please check the data and units you had entered for Resources.

    Dear Utsav Rajbhandari,
There is not such issue in my LEAP Analysis. And Process Efficiency of LEAP contribute least in production. The parameter of Maximum availability is main contributing factor and I have not sure values of technologies for these parameters. Moreover, no technology is 100% available in my analyses. Where i can find the exact values of these parameters.
    Thanks

    Dear LEAP Team,
LEAP optimization constraints minimum utilization is not properly functional. Please make it functional

    Thanks
