    Dear Charlie,

is there any way to prohibit power curtailment for non-dispatched power plant (wind or PV)?

    Thank you
    Inna

Hi Inna - can you be a bit more specific please? Are you looking for a different type of result? At the moment, curtailment is simply the difference between required power and maximum availability for any power plants marked as non-dispatchable. Dispatchable power plants never have any curtailment. Are you looking for something different?

In my country all the all the electricity from renewables should be purchased by settlement center, and of course this generation is not dispatchable.
In the LEAP I can only make renewables either dispatchable which is not true, or non-dispatchable then it will be curtailed which is also not true here. Is there any way to model renewables as a non-dispatchable generation having the highest priority to consume?

In LEAP, "curtailment" means the electricity that COULD NOT be consumed (wasted) because there was insufficient demand or insufficient storage. I think you are not referring to the same concept. You are referring to the order of dispatch or consumption. If your wind resources are consumed first then simply mark them as merit order =1. That supply will then get used first and other plant types (e.g. fossil or hydro plants) wont get dispatched.

    Hope this helps,

    Charlie
