Topic: The tab of Historical Production is missingSubscribe | Previous | Next

Concerning the sample of Time Slice Demo, when choosing the Processes in the branch of Electricity generation of Transformation, the tab of Historical Production is missing, which is different from the default tab in other models. Could you please explain why and how to show the tab of Historical Production.

Additionally, how does the Historical Production influence the model simulation? Can I add any other tabs to the model and how does the added variable consist with the original model theory of calculation methods. Thank you.

    Sincerely,
    Liya

That tab is a user variable not a built in variable. Please see this page: https://leap.sei.org/help/Supporting_Screens/User_Variables.htm

Thanks Charles. Why can't I see the tab of Historical Production for electricity generation processes in the sample model of Time Slice Demo?

I believe that particular area (Time Slice Demo) does not include a user variable called Historical Production. Note that user variables are particular to LEAP areas. They are not defined for LEAP as a whole. So different areas will have different user variables.

Thanks Charles. The tab of Historical Production as a default tab seen in new areas.

Apologies - my last answer was way off base! I see now you were NOT asking about user variables! 😳

If you don’t see the Historical Production variable in Current Accounts for Transformation processes that is because the variable is not required based on how you set up the module. This can occur for a number of reasons, but most typically:

    1. The First Simulation Year was set to a year on or before the base year (e.g. it has the expression BaseYear) for all processes in a module.
    2. The module does not use capacity data and so is set to be dispatched only by process share.

    Hope this helps,

    Charlie
