I want to know if I can use LEAP to just obtain the emissions of different processes(wind,solar...) while I only have the installed capacity of each process without knowing the historical production, transmission losses or other parameters ?

    Hi Mhiri
This can totally be accomplished in LEAP. For questions regarding the absence of the plant's operational history, it is not overly significant. You don't need too much data; however, it is essential to note the following:
+ Adjustments in how your electricity sources are coordinated (electricity will be supplied either according to the Merit order or based on their percentage of capacity depending on your installation). I marked it in the picture below.
+ You don't need an excessive amount of data, but at a minimum, you need data on electricity demand or assumptions about electricity demand to consider energy transition. The system should only generate enough electricity to meet the demand.
+ Regarding emission factors, currently, Wind and Solar have zero emissions. If your system has its own characteristics, you need to review and incorporate them.

This is just based on my own practice.

    Sincerely,
    An Binh
