    hello,

I've been asked to enter password after opening the apps. I need some explanation regarding this one and what I should do.

This error sometimes occurs when LEAP is improperly installed, which can sometime occur due to having inadequate access rights on certain folders. I recommend you try installing the latest version of LEAP (currently 2-24.1.0.7). Please let us know if the problem persists.

This usually means that installation did not complete properly, sometimes due to access rights, Please download the latest version (currently 2024.1.1.6), then do a full install. You can get it here: https://leap.sei.org/download.

If problems persist, you may need to get assistance from your IT department.

I already downloaded the latest version (both 32 bit an 64 bit version), even I had used additional software to clean up all registry. I need to click cancel all the pop up windows, before I can running the software

I'm sorry, but I dont think my campus IT department will understand this issue, as it works perfectly on other devices, that have been downloaded from the same email domain, but not in my PC.

That definitely sounds like an access issue, which could be due to a number of factors. The most common causes are:

    1. Having insufficient access rights to the files and folders in the "LEAP Areas" folder. You may need to check with your IT team on this, especially if you do not have full admin rights on your PC.
    2. Anti-virus software temporarily locking some files. You can temporarily disable your AV software to test this out, or set the software to exclude scanning of the LEAP Areas folder.
    3. Cloud synching software such as Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box etc., can also cause problems by temporarily locking files. Make sure your LEAP Areas folder is not in a location that is being synched.

You can also try closing all copies of LEAP and then deleting these folders to force them to be regenerated:

    Documents\LEAP Areas\_Settings\_DefaultNX
    Documents\LEAP Areas\_Settings\_DictionaryNX

    Good luck!
