Q1. I've set up ESS as a generation technology. I'm trying to model a 100% RE + ESS system for 2050. In the picture attached, the ESS does not seem to provide energy in the 0:00~8:00 hours. In LEAP, can ESS save energy in the afternoon hours, and release that back into the grid during the 0:00~8:00 early morning hours? My model is four-seasons 24-hrs, 96 time slices. I've input the variability of RE technologies into yearly profiles.

Q2. How can I get LEAP to build more ESS to eliminate Hydrogen from the mix? I've provided ample room in the Maximum Capacity Addition, allowing the system to add a lot more ESS in the optimization process, but it doesn't do so. Even if Hydrogen Fuel Cells are much more expensive. I've set the Full Load Hours as 24-hrs.
