    Dear All,

I way trying to working on Optimization and my question is that is it possible to vary the maximum availability of a given technology, for example say "hydro power" in simulation and optimization case. That is, for example, the average capacity factor(maximum availability of hydro power in Ethiopia is around 41. Can i vary this number for optimization? Thank you like from 41 to 71 based on some assumptions

Yes - maximum availability can vary by time slice, by year and also by scenario. Just use different expressions in optimization and simulation-based scenarios.

Is it possible to apply these variations to specific seasons, months, or weeks to reflect hydrological patterns more accurately?

Yes - suggest you start by taking a look at the YearlyShape function that lets you specify time sliced variables.
