    Dear LEAP SEI Team,

I am working on optimizing an industrial process using LEAP and have just adjusted the activity level from "per metric tonnage production" to "factory unit" to ensure the compatibility of 'devices per activity' data requirement information for the optimization setup. I have also set the activity level value from the base year to the end year accordingly.

However, when running the optimization, the results do not show any "energy need" or process technology option competition to fulfill the activity level needs. Could you help clarify why this might be happening? Am I missing a necessary configuration or additional settings required for the optimization to recognize the new activity level properly?

I appreciate any guidance or troubleshooting steps you can provide.

    Best regards,

    Hi Charlie,

Thanks for following up. After testing with different structures and settings, I found that in the current version of LEAP, the system notifies that the total share of activity levels in the optimization scenario must not be 0%. However, when we uncheck the "Check Sum 100%" option in the settings, the results proceed as expected.

Interestingly, when I tested the same setup on my office’s LEAP version (previous version), this issue did not occur, even without unchecking the "Check Sum 100%" option.

I believe this issue is specific to the new version of LEAP.
