    Hi all,

I encounter an issue that LEAP softwear can not be opened. When I clicked the LEAP icon, it pops up an error message, showing "Dictionary file not found Tables". Does anyone know how to figure out this issue? Your assistance would be appreciated.

    Best regards,
    Liya

Hi Liya - a few people seem to be seeing this error after updating to 2024.1.1.5. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Could you please try exiting LEAP then delete the LEAP Areas\_Settings\_DefaultNX and LEAP Areas\_Settings\_DictionmaryNX folders. Then try running LEAP again.

Please let me know what happens.

    Thanks!

    Charlie

    Hi Charlie,

It didn't resolve the issue. The folders reappears after deleting and restarting the LEAP.

    Thanks
    Akshay

    Hi again all,

As a temporary workaround, please try the following:

    1. Exit all running copies of LEAP.
    2. Open Windows Explorer. You can do that by pressing the Windows+E on the keyboard.
    3. In Windows Explorer navigate to the windows temporary folder. You can do that by entering %Temp% in the topmost address bar.
    4. You should then see a number of folders all with names beginning "_LEAP". Delete those folders. They will be recreated next time you run LEAP.
    5. Try running LEAP again.

See the screenshot below by way of example.

Please let me know if this helps. In the meantime I will look at how to prevent this happening.

    Thanks!

I had this problem a couple of times recently. When I downloaded again the last same version (1.15) , it worked.

    Hi,

Thanks for these updates. I am still having trouble opening LEAP with this feedback. After I completely uninstalled, the error appears as soon as I download a new version of LEAP. Therefore, I have no temporary folders. I also deleted the "_DictionaryNX" and "_DefaultNX" folders. This did not work and they reappear every time I try and open the application.

I'm using a virtual machine to access LEAP which may be causing added issues.

Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Halle
