I am trying to calculate the marginal abatement cost curve (MACC) for non-energy sector. Could anyone please suggest me in this regard? For the energy sector, there exists a demand cost tab, and under the electricity generation there exists, capital cost, O&M cost. Using this variable, I can calculate the MACC for the energy sector. But, I would like to know, how can I do the MACC for the non-energy sector.

    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Nazmul,

While LEAP's non-energy sector modeling is simpler than its energy sector modeling capabilities, you can still enter both emissions and cost information under the non-energy sector branches. Make sure you have both Non-Energy Effects and Costs enabled in the Settings: Scope & Scale screen, after which you should see variables named Non Energy Effect Loading and Effect Cost, wherever you specify an effect under the Non Energy branches of the LEAP tree. Note that costs are all specified as total annual values. They are not a cost per unit of emission. If you need to create a more detailed analysis you can always add you own User Variables.

    I hope this helps!
